An ongoing study for Action Against Hunger examines the political economy of Team Europe and Global Gateway finance. It connects blended finance and guarantees with institutional mandates, decision-making and nutrition priorities, assessing how financing governance shapes opportunities for engagement and influence.
Context and purpose
Action Against Hunger’s study examines how Team Europe and Global Gateway financing decisions relate to nutrition priorities. Its purpose is to identify where the organisation can engage with, and seek to influence, European investment and financing arrangements.
The work
Ongoing political-economy analysis maps EU and Member State mechanisms, development finance institutions, export credit agencies and multilateral development banks. Consultations examine decision-making, transparency, private-sector influence and competing interests, including the use of blending and guarantees.
Outputs and use
The planned political-economy study will set out findings on nutrition-financing mechanisms and opportunities for engagement. It is intended to inform Action Against Hunger’s positioning and dialogue with European financing actors; the final report remains in development.
